      MATTHEW & REBECCA

      M

Matthew and Rebecca’s love for each other was evident at a very early age. They were born into each other’s lives as their families were friends and when Rebecca was only 13 years old, she had Mathew firmly placed in her heart.

One Christmas Eve while Rebecca was at the airport on her way to visit family in Melbourne, her and her sister went into a jewellery shop to try some pieces and pass the time. While she was trying on some rings she felt a tap on her shoulder and heard “why don’t you try this one, I think it would look good on you” and when she turned around, Matthew was on one knee holding up the ring.

Rebecca had always wanted a beach style wedding that she could share with close friends and family. Matthew was a little more traditional but relished the idea of a relaxing and simple wedding away where everyone could enjoy each other’s company in a beautiful holiday setting.

The Sanctuary Cove Chapel was chosen for their ceremony because of its beauty, location by the water and its floor to ceiling glass windows that showed the breathtaking view. The chapel’s beauty was so overwhelming in itself that it was simply decorated with fresh florals.

Rebecca’s taste is quite simple and classic which she chose to illustrate in the wedding décor. Slight pastel colours were chosen with the main theme revolving around white florals and greenery. The décor was kept simple to compliment the gorgeous surroundings. The reception was held at the MacArthurs ballroom which had been transformed from an empty shell into a magical space fit for fun, laughter and love.

The most memorable moment for the happy bride was the speeches where their loved ones shared beautiful and emotional words. It was a truly magical wedding where the newlyweds and guests enjoyed every moment. Rebecca graced the celebration looking stunning in her simple yet elegant Pronovias gown from David Jones Bridal. The bridesmaids wore custom dresses made by dressmaker that suited them each individually and complimented the style of the simple, relaxed yet elegant wedding. The groom and his groomsmen were dressed by Peter Jackson and too fit the style quite well.

Simon Gorges was chosen to capture the wedding event because Rebecca absolutely loved his candid and natural style of photography. She had met him when he photographed her best friend’s wedding and absolutely enjoyed his down to earth nature and felt completely comfortable with him. His timeless photographs truly inspired her to have him shoot her most special day and she loved how he captured the fun and happiness of the everyone throughout the day. Rebecca claimed to be quite impressed with how Simon handled shooting her wedding in such hot weather as it had been 40 degrees.

The newlyweds were very happy with their wedding photographs as they truly captured the event and the beautiful scenery surrounding the event in a natural and candid way.
