Christopher & Vanessa | Hyatt Regency Wedding

18/12/2020

Christopher and Vanessa met in high school but instead of being high school sweethearts they were the best of friends. They spent years building on this friendship and creating the best memories while enjoying many adventures together. It was only years later that they decided to start dating. Because they had built a solid foundation where they knew each other well and felt completely comfortable with each other, they knew they had made the right choice. Christopher eventually proposed at one of their favourite places to visit, Balmoral Beach, which they enjoyed hanging out at in both summer and winter. After which, they enjoyed an intimate family lunch with their immediate relatives.

The day was spent at St Mary’s Cathedral where two local priests performed the wedding ceremony and afterwards, the newlyweds and their loved ones celebrated their union in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency in Sydney. Both locations were very special to the couple, especially the Grand Ballroom which was large enough to host their 350 guests with enough room for a dance floor and it gave them a spectacular Sydney harbour view.

Christopher and Vanessa chose their favourite colors, black and white, which really enhanced the modern and timeless style they were aiming for. The groom and groomsmen wore black while the bride and her bridesmaids wore various shades of white. Vanessa’s stunning fitted gown was a Steven Khalil creation with a -cut neckline, a shear base and 3D floral lacing throughout which reflected the timeless theme of the day. She wore a mantilla veil which she had dreamed of doing ever since she was a young girl.

The reception showcased the timeless and modern theme with white florals and a white grand piano with everything else looking sophisticated in black. This included a black dance floor, black bridal table, black cake table and black Tiffany chairs. The linen was black sequence which was beautifully enhanced by candlelight. The white floral arrangements were whimsical and cascaded in an unstructured manner throughout the room.

Christopher and Vanessa’s style and personalities were certainly complimented by their choice in photographer. Simon was recommended to them and upon meeting, they immediately fell in love with his charm and his beautiful work. They knew he would capture their most special day perfectly because his style truly represented what they were looking for. His genuineness, passion and candid style of photography appealed to them and on the day, he didn’t disappoint. The newlyweds said he was so much fun and found many ways to make them laugh to get the best and most candid shots. Him and his team were barely visible yet managed to capture every special moment of their wedding day.

It was truly wonderful for them to see what they imagined for their wedding day finally come to life and they felt really blessed to have enjoyed so many laughs and love with their nearest and dearest. Their wedding day was truly a magical event.
